April 29 – May 4, 2012 WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP Instructor: Deborah Rubin DBL $450.00 / SGL $525.00 The beautiful scenery of the Warwick Valley provides the setting for exploring the exciting medium of watercolor at your own level of creativity. Learn the principles and basic elements of watercolor in a relaxed setting to produce paintings that express you. Study shapes, color, value, direction and texture under the direction of a noted artist/instructor. Learn from demonstrations, individual help and critiques. Explore new ideas and enjoy a truly creative experience. NOTE: For beginner and intermediate students. Bring painting supplies. A suggested supply list will be mailed prior to the program. April 29 – May 4, 2012 PAINTING WITH PIZZAZZ USING OILS AND ACRYLICS Instructor: Louise Minks DBL $450.00 / SGL $525.00 Challenge yourself to paint more boldly and fearlessly! Enjoy a week working with oils or acrylics. The instructor uses both but specializes in acrylics. You may want to try this excellent and forgiving medium. The emphasis will be on developing good composition, creating clean color, and learning tips about perspective and the effects of light. Painting demonstrations and personal critiques will move students' progress along quickly. Both indoor and outdoor painting. All levels of experience welcome. NOTE: Bring painting supplies. May 6 – 11, 2012 BUTTONS, BEADS AND EMBROIDERY Instructor: June Dettenrieder DBL $430.00 / SGL $500.00 Learn basic embroidery stitches while decorating a shirt or pillow; then build on your design with beads, buttons, fancy fibers, etc. Bring a T-shirt, an undecorated pillow, and other items you may wish to jazz up. Various techniques will be demonstrated. Clothing from your wardrobe which may need spots or worn places covered is great fun to work on; or you may start with new items. There is no limit to the imaginative ways you can dress up the plainest outfit, making a one-of-a-kind conversation piece for yourself or someone special. A suggested list of helpful supplies to bring will be mailed prior to the program.

September 16 – 21, 2012 LOOKING FOR YOUR ORANGE COUNTY, NEW YORK ANCESTORS? ORANGE COUNTY GENEALOGY RESEARCH WEEK DBL $430.00 / SGL $500.00 The Orange County Genealogical Society is hosting an Orange County Genealogy Research Week September 16 – 21, 2012. This research week is co-sponsored with The Warwick Center. The O.C.G.S. staff will provide assistance in their Research Room which will be open Monday through Thursday from 9:15 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Research Room will also be open on Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon. If other research areas, such as Newburgh, Port Jervis or Montgomery are vital to your genealogical research, let us know. We will try to assist you. Enrollment will be limited to 15 participants. The Warwick Center will provide five nights lodging, ten meals, and transportation to and from research areas all of which is included in your fee. Breakfast and dinner will be provided daily beginning with dinner on Sunday, and concluding with breakfast Friday morning (lunch is on your own in Goshen). Check-in time is between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday with a wine and cheese reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Check-out time is Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.
